San Diego PALS Courses

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an American Heart Association PALS Certification.

Course Options

There are four PALS course options at our San Diego location:

Option 1: PALS Full Course

  • Length: 1 day; up to 12 hours
  • Full Course is designed for first time students or students with expired cards.

Option 2: PALS Update/Renewal Course

  • Length: Up to 6.5 hours
  • Update / Renewal Course is designed for students with current or non-expired cards.

Option 3: PALS Online/Fast Track Course

  • Length: Online 10 hours / Skills Session 2 hours
  • Price includes Online Access Key & Skills Testing Appointment.

Option 4: PALS Skills Testing Only

  • Length: 2 hours
  • This option is for students who already have their online completion certificate.

Mandatory Pre-Course Requirements

Please note that the AHA requires all students taking PALS to pass the Pre-Course Self-Assessment exam with a score of 70% or greater.

  • After registration students will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to do the Pre – Course Self-Assessment.
  • You can take the exam over until a passing grade is achieved.
  • You MUST print or take a picture of the passing grade with your name on it to hand to your Instructor before entering the class. If you do not have a printer, please take a picture, and email the picture to [email protected].
  • If students do not have access to a computer, they may come in at any time to our San Diego – Mission Valley location and use our student computer. If using the student computer the day of your scheduled course, please arrive 30 minutes before your class start time to ensure time to complete the exam. PLEASE NOTE: Only one student computer is available. The Student Computer is first come first serve.

About Our San Diego PALS Course

Express Training Solutions’ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course in San Diego is intended for healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies, and for first-time or renewal training to obtain a PALS course completion card.

This Mission Valley PALS course includes skills stations and interactive case-based sessions that teach the participant to integrate knowledge and skills into a clinically useful discipline.

The goals of this class are to provide information to recognize the infant or child at risk for respiratory and /or cardiac arrest; strategies to prevent respiratory and/or cardiac arrest in neonates, infants and children; cognitive and psychomotor skills to resuscitate and stabilize the infant; and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.
