Oceanside PALS Courses

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an American Heart Association PALS Certification.

About Course Options

There are five PALS course options at our Oceanside location:

Option 1: PALS Full Course

  • Classroom training for first time or students with expired cards.
  • Class average 8-9 Hours, with 2.5 hours of pre-course work.
  • CEUs available for most healthcare professions

Option 2: PALS Update / Renewal Course

  • Classroom training for students with an unexpired card.
  • Class average 4.5 Hours, with 2.5 hours of pre-course work.
  • CEUs available for most healthcare professions

Option 3: PALS Online Fast-Track

  • Online and in-person hybrid for new or renewing students
  • Includes online access (4 hrs) and instructor-led skills testing (2 hrs)
  • Online access provided in confirmation email
  • Refunds not available for Fast-Track Courses

Option 4: Skills Testing Only

  • PALS HeartCode Completion Certificate required (access not included)
  • Instructor-led (2 hrs) Skills Testing

Option 5: ACLS & PALS 1-Day Renewal

  • Renewal option for students with unexpired certifications.
  • Class Length: 1 day; up to 10 hours
  • BLS Renewal add-on available

Mandatory Pre-Course Requirements

The AHA requires all students taking PALS to complete the Pre-Course Self-Assessment and Precourse Work.

  • After registration students will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to do the Pre-Course Work.
  • You can take the exam over until a passing grade is achieved.
  • You MUST print or email a copy of your precourse certificate with your name on it before entering the class. If emailing please send a copy to: [email protected].

Who can take this course?

Healthcare providers such as: pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and others who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.

Oceanside PALS Course Content

  • 1- and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED use

About Our Oceanside PALS Course

Express Training Solutions’ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course in Oceanside is intended for healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies, and for first-time or renewal training to obtain a PALS course completion card.

This Oceanside PALS course includes skills stations and interactive case-based sessions that teach the participant to integrate knowledge and skills into a clinically useful discipline.

The goals of this class are to provide information to recognize the infant or child at risk for respiratory and /or cardiac arrest; strategies to prevent respiratory and/or cardiac arrest in neonates, infants and children; cognitive and psychomotor skills to resuscitate and stabilize the infant; and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.
