San Diego NRP Course Structure
NRP Course Design in San Diego
Our NRP class in Mission Valley has been reformatted to utilize a blended learning format which involves an online portion and an in-person instructor-led portion.
Part 1: NRP 9th Edition, Online Coursework. Select the appropriate track based on your job description or employers’ requirements. We recommend the Advanced Track for participants who are unsure of which curriculum is needed.
- Essentials Track (Lessons 1 – 4) is designed for healthcare professionals who may be required to initiate resuscitation
- Advanced Track (Lessons 1 – 11) is for clinicians who may participate in a full neonatal resuscitation
Part 2: Attend the required In-Person portion for skills practice and testing.
STEP ONE: Register for Part 2
- Register for the In-Person (part 2) portion of the course. You will be given the option to include the required Online Course (part 1) with your registration, or you may purchase / obtain separately. The NRP 9th Edition Course Manual is included with your online access.
STEP TWO: Complete the Online Requirements (Before Course)
- Complete the Online Requirements before attending part 2. Depending on the track selected, the online work can take several hours to complete.
STEP THREE: Attend the Course
- Attend the In-Person (part 2) course with an NRP Instructor which can last up to 3 hours.
San Diego NRP Course Content
The NRP certification/recertification course covers the following:
- Cognitive knowledge of NRP concepts and interventions
- Supporting the goals and purpose of NRP Provider status
- Critical components of newborn resuscitation, including a solid understanding of the correct sequence according to the NRP flow diagram and optimize neonatal outcome
- NRP knowledge, skills, and teamwork, which may reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality by participating in a hands-on skills evaluation or online skills assessment
About Our San Diego NRP Class
Our San Diego Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) classes are designed to introduce healthcare professionals to the concepts and basic skills needed during neonatal resuscitation.
The course teaches causes, prevention, and management of neonatal complications caused by mild to severe asphyxia, and is designed to help develop optimal knowledge and skills healthcare professionals need during a resuscitation.
