Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a 4-year Emergency Nurses Association Certification (RNs only).

About Course Options

There are three TNCC course options at our Hillsboro / Beaverton, OR location.

Option 1: TNCC Provider Core Course

Length: 2 days; 12 hours
The TNCC Full Course is designed for first-time candidates or TNCC providers with an expired certification

Option 2: TNCC Renewal Fast Track

Length: 1 day; 4 to 6 hours
The TNCC 1-Day Renewal is designed for current TNCC providers with an unexpired certification

Option 3: TNCC Challenge Course

Length: Up to 4 hours
The Challenge Course is designed for providers with an unexpired TNCC certification
This a pass/fail test-out. Candidates must be prepared to test upon arrival. No remediation will be given.
An active RN license is required to become a certified TNCC provider.

A Systematic Approach of Initial Assessment

The A-I mnemonic and the Trauma Nursing Assessment will assist nurses in providing appropriate and early interventions.

Hands-on Training Through an Individual and Team Approach

Focusing on rapid identification of life-threatening injuries, comprehensive patient assessment, and enhanced intervention for better patient outcomes.
Three Psychomotor skill stations will cover: Trauma Nursing Process, Airway and Ventilation, and Trauma Interventions.

Comprehensive Manual

The TNCC Eighth Edition Manual was developed to reinforce and supplement the lectures and skills stations.

Online Modules with Live Links to Additional Information

About Our TNCC Class

Our Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is designed to provide trauma nurses with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and hands-on training needed to keep trauma patients safe.

The overall course objective is to improve trauma patient outcomes by providing nurses with foundational trauma knowledge, skills, and a systematic Trauma Nursing Process to guide trauma patient care.

After taking our TNCC course, nurses will be able to systematically assess the trauma patient, intervene and/or assist with interventions, and provide evidence-based trauma nursing care within the context of a trauma team.
